Initially I approached photography as purely a hobby, and then incorporated it into print, web and product design. Shortly after that I began shooting portraits, products and finally weddings. Interestingly using photography as an income source has increased my appreciation of it as an art form.
Photographing people gives me a great opportunity to capture more than just a portrait, but rather that person in a moment or an aspect of their personality. Semi Candid or what I call “Sucker Shooting”, where you frame a subject in a candid fashion, call their name and capture the image right as they shift their attention to the camera, is one of my favorite methods.
